Mid Michigan Motorplex - Sept 10, 2005
The Mid Michigan Motorplex got pumped up on Saturday September 10, 2005, during another spectacular NSCA racing event where the Pump Gas Challenge race fueled the fire for the 3rd pump gas race of the year.

The high as 94 Octane action started at 12.29 p.m. when Nick Tucci's all steel and very real 1969 Chevelle pulled up to the line against a fantastic and classic fast Ford coupe.
When the light went green the Chevelle pulled the wheels with a spectacular flight down the quarter mile that fueled the fire of the fans with a blistering Ultra Street Class record winning performance of 9.113 ET at 148.58 mph.

The next round of racing was also action packed bringing out two Premium Street Class rivals with Keith Wiederhold and his high powered big block Plymouth Roadrunner racing against the deadly drag race veteran, fast Eddie Plybon and his 1989 Corvette, who has a growing reputation of smoking high quality cigars and his competition at the same time.

These two racers first raced each other at the last Pump Gas Challenge at Quaker City Raceway where Keith Wiederhold took home the trophy for Premium Street. This time, it was Eddie Plybon who won the race and evened the score to won and won. This rivalry is expected to continue at the next race at National Trail Raceway in Hebron Ohio.

The Premium Street action is actually likely to intensify since Plybon's crew chief Rick Lemon likes to fuel the fire by making challenges to potential competitors by stating the following "Bring it on. I can take care of Eddie and myself, and the car can definitely take care of business". Speaking of business, these guys are so confident that they are ready to bet money that they
won't be beat.

Any takers are requested to see the guy with the straw hat.

In Supreme Street Class action, a Pump Gas Race war type grudge match was arranged between Nick Tucci's 1969 Chevelle and Jack Iron's high powered Hemi Road Runner. This naturally aspirated Chevy versus Mopar race started with a funny car style burn out being performed by Nick Tucci with smoke pouring out of the Chevelle up to the 330 feet mark with Big brother and track announcer Al Tucci talking up a storm about this classic Chevy vs Mopar race. At the end of this truly exciting and spectacular race it was Nick Tucci taking home the trophy with a 10.40 ET at 132 mph to the Mopars traction limited 11.30 ET at 125 mph. This race got a lot of people really pumped up about Pump Gas Racing and helped to fuel the fire for the Pump Gas Challenge racing event.
The Pump Gas Challenge race at Mid Michigan Motorplex was a blast from the past where real hardcore street machine racing action came back to life from day's gone bye to help fuel the pump gas fire of the future.
