General ASCC Rules
Engine
Internal engine modifications are allowed. Modifications to the engine must allow for operation on unleaded pump gasoline and drivability for a minimum 10 mile cruise.

Block
Any OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or commercially available block allowed.

Heads
Any OEM or commercially available production based street heads are allowed and aftermarket race heads are prohibited. Cylinder head valve angles can not vary more than 2 degrees from production based engine. Any internal modifications are allowed. The Corvette C5-R, Viper GTS-R and Viper SRT Competition Coupe race heads are only permitted in the Modified SuperCar Class.

Intake manifold
Any OEM or commercially available production based intake manifold is permitted as long as it does not extend the carburetor or throttle body above the plane of the hood. Sheet metal intake manifolds are prohibited. Internal modifications are allowed.

Valve-train
Any camshaft, lifters and valve train is allowed that is capable of extensive street driving.

Exhaust System
Full exhaust required. All exhaust system gases emitted from the engine must pass through the mufflers and exit outside body of car by the original exhaust system location.

Body
Car must retain its original appearance. Body may not be altered in height, width or length. Windows must retain factory based OEM glass.

Lettering / Decals
Decals and lettering are allowed to be present on front and rear windows only.

Interior
Full interior and dashboard must be retained. Aftermarket gauges allowed.

Chassis
Stock chassis must be retained. Roll cage and structural safety equipment permitted.

Front Suspension
The car must have stock-style suspension, as produced by manufacturer for body type. Aftermarket bolt-on direct fit components are allowed. Sway bars may be removed.

Rear Suspension
Production based independent rear suspension must be retained. Aftermarket bolt-on direct fit components are allowed. To maintain the factory-type suspension no solid axles, ladder bar or 4 link suspension permitted, except in the Modified SuperCar class.

Drive-train
Restricted to manufacturers OEM production based transmission. Transmission upgrades permitted. After market shifter allowed but all gear changes must occur as a result of an internal function of the transmission or as a direct action of the internal function of the transmission. Pneumatic, hydraulic, electric shifters prohibited.

Rear-End
Production based independent rear suspension required. No solid rear axles permitted.

Wheels
A minimum width of 4.5 inches is required for front wheels.

Tires
Front and rear tires must be DOT labelled. DOT tires are limited to maximum designated sidewall width of 13.50. No slicks allowed in street classes. Slicks are only permitted in the Modified Street Class. The tire tread must not protrude outside the original bodyline.

Weight Breaks
The minimum weight for car and driver is 3300 lbs for all classes.

High Performance Equipment & Power Adder
High performance equipment and power adder must be manufacturer designated and intended for street use. No race superchargers or turbo chargers are permitted.

Intercoolers, nitrous bottle heaters, cool cans or any equipment that only affects temperature will be classified as a temperature regulating device. Only equipment that forces more air or fuel into the engine will be classified as a power adder.

The following equipment is classified as a power adder:
Supercharger, Turbo Charger, Nitrous Oxide

Power adders are limited to the following:
Restricted to one 76mm turbocharger or two 44mm turbochargers
Restricted to one nitrous oxide fogger nozzle, per cylinder
Restricted to one nitrous oxide plate system

Restricted to one supercharger – supercharger restrictions are as follows:
Procharger units restricted to model, P600B, P-1SC, P-1SC-1, P-1SC-2.
Vortech units restricted to S-trim, SC-trim and T-trim units.
Paxton units restricted to Novi-2000 centrifugal supercharger system #1201810 for Viper.
Magna Charger restricted to MP112 supercharger for C5 Corvette.
Roe Racing Supercharger for Viper.

Higher performance superchargers add 200 lbs for minimum 3500 lbs race weight.
Pro Charger models D-1, D-1SC, F-1, D-1R and F-1R must add 200 lbs minimum weight 3500 lbs.
Vortech V2 series models and V-4 J-Trim, V-4 X-Trim add 200 lbs minimum weight 3500 lbs.

Note: Power adders will be constantly evaluated to ensure parity with all combinations. The NSCA reserves the right to limit turbocharger sizes, supercharger sizes and pulleys and the volume of nitrous used in order to provide a competitive race series.

Street Equipment
All entries are required to have operable headlights and tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, horn, and windshield wipers. All cars must be capable of a 10-mile cruise, to prove the vehicle is a real street car that can drive for extended periods.

Street Legal Requirements
Competitors must have a legal license plate with current vehicle registration that matches the VIN number. No dealer plates allowed. Racers must have a valid driver’s license.

Safety Equipment
The car and driver must meet NSCA, NHRA or IHRA safety requirements for the quarter-mile speeds and elapsed times that are being performed.


Original Street Class/ASCC Rules - 12.50 Index Performance Limit
The Original Street Class is a drag race competition intended for naturally aspirated street legal Corvettes & Vipers that use production based engine technologies, an independent rear suspension and street legal D.O.T tires.

This race category has a maximum elapsed time performance limit of 12:50 seconds.
An Elapsed times lower than 12.50 seconds is prohibited and will result in elimination.

Chassis & Suspension
This class requires the original chassis and an independent rear suspension. The chassis can be strengthened and after market suspension components are permitted for the IRS suspension.

Engine
This class is only intended for production based engine technologies.

The engine block, cylinder heads and intake manifold must be OEM, original equipment from the manufacturer, or aftermarket replacement direct fit equipment.

Only production based engine technology is allowed with no limits to performance upgrades.

Cylinder Heads & Intake Manifolds
This class requires the use of production based cylinder heads and intake manifold with no limits to performance upgrades. Aftermarket direct bolt on cylinder heads and intake manifolds are permitted. To be legal for this class, aftermarket cylinder heads must be direct replacement equipment that can bolt up to the original factory intake manifold with the correct port alignment. Any aftermarket intake manifold must be a direct replacement unit that can bolt on to the factory cylinder heads with the correct port alignment. Race cylinder heads and intake manifolds are strictly prohibited. Sheet metal intake manifolds are also prohibited.

Weight
The minimum weight for car and driver is 3300 lbs.

Power Adders
Superchargers, turbo chargers and nitrous oxide are allowed.

Power adders are limited to one type of power adder and the combination of two different power adders is strictly prohibited. The use of nitrous oxide with a turbo charger or supercharger is not allowed. See General Rules for specific rules regarding power adders.

Independent rear suspension is required and aftermarket suspension components are permitted for the IRS suspension. An original equipment transmission is required and any modifications are allowed.

Wheels
Aftermarket wheels are permitted. Minimum front wheel width is 4.5 inches.

Bracket Racing Aids
Bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and throttle stops are not allowed. The application or use of any device, mechanical or electronic, that permit the driver to ascertain the position of their vehicle in relation to the starting line is prohibited.

Safety Equipment
Cars competing in this class must have the proper NHRA or IHRA safety equipment which includes a roll bar.


Genuine Street Class/ASCC Rules - 11.50 Index Performance Limit
The Genuine Street race category is intended for naturally aspirated and power adder equipped street legal Corvettes & Vipers that use production based engine technologies, an independent rear suspension and street legal D.O.T tires.

The performance range for this class is intended for cars that have high 11 second elapsed time capabilities with a maximum performance limit set at 11.50 seconds. An elapsed time that is lower than 11.50 seconds will result in elimination from competition.

The Genuine Street Class has a maximum 11:50 second elapsed time performance limit. Elapsed times lower than 11.50 seconds are prohibited and will result in elimination.

Chassis & Suspension
This class requires the original chassis and an independent rear suspension. The chassis can be strengthened and after market suspension components are permitted for the IRS suspension.

Engine
This class is only intended for production based engine technologies.

The engine block, cylinder heads and intake manifold must be OEM, original equipment from the manufacturer, or aftermarket replacement direct fit equipment.

Only production based engine technology is allowed with no limits to performance upgrades.

Serious Street Class/ASCC Rules - 10.00 Index Performance Limit
The Serious Street race category is intended for naturally aspirated and power adder equipped street legal Corvettes & Vipers that use an independent rear suspension and production based engine technologies.

The Serious Street Class has a minimum 10:00 second elapsed time performance limit. Elapsed times lower than 10.00 seconds are prohibited and will result in elimination.

Chassis & Suspension
This class requires the original chassis and an independent rear suspension. The chassis can be strengthened and after market suspension components are permitted for the IRS suspension.

Engine
This class is only intended for production based engine technologies.

The engine block, cylinder heads and intake manifold must be OEM, original equipment from the manufacturer, or aftermarket replacement direct fit equipment.

Only production based engine technology is allowed with no limits to performance upgrades.

Cylinder Heads & Intake Manifolds
This class requires the use of production based cylinder heads and intake manifold with no limits to performance upgrades. Extreme Street Class/ASCC Rules - Street Legal & No Index Limits
Extreme Street is the maximum performance class for street legal Corvettes & Vipers

This is the heavy weight class in Street Legal Super Car Racing where you bring what you got and hope it’s enough to run as fast as you can.

This race category is intended for naturally aspirated and power adder equipped street legal Corvettes & Vipers that use production based engine technologies and an independent rear suspension with street legal D.O.T tires.

Chassis & Suspension
This class requires the factory original chassis and an independent rear suspension. The chassis can be strengthened and after market suspension components are permitted for the IRS suspension.

Engine
This class is only intended for production based engine technologies with no limits to performance upgrades.

The engine block, cylinder heads and intake manifold must be OEM, original equipment from the manufacturer, or aftermarket replacement direct fit equipment.

Cylinder Heads & Intake Manifolds
This class requires the use of production based cylinder heads and intake manifold with no limits to performance upgrades. Aftermarket direct bolt on cylinder heads and intake manifolds are permitted. Modified SuperCar Class/ASCC Rules - Production Chassis & No Index Limits
This class is for Corvettes & Vipers that are modified to perform race car duties with the production based chassis.

The American Supercar Challenge, Modified Super Car class is the need for more speed race category which permits the use of high performance racing equipment to ultimately define the maximum performance capability of Super Cars transformed into superior race cars.

Engine
Production based engine technology permitted with no performance upgrade limits.

The engine block, cylinder heads and intake manifold can be OEM, original equipment from the manufacturer, or aftermarket replacement equipment.

This class also permits the use of factory (GM & Mopar) race cylinder heads and the aftermarket intake manifolds used on Viper GTS-R, Viper Competition Coupe and Corvette C5R & C6R.

Engines equipped with a carburetor are restricted to a single 4 barrel with no size limit.

No limits to engine size displacement.

Power Adders
Superchargers, turbo chargers and nitrous oxide allowed. Power adders are limited to only one type of power adder. The use of two different power adders strictly prohibited.

Nitrous oxide is not permitted to be used with a turbo charger or supercharger.

High Performance Equipment & Power Adder
Race superchargers & turbo chargers are permitted in this class.

The following equipment is classified as a power adder:
Supercharger, Turbo Charger, Nitrous Oxide

Power Adders are limited to the following:
Restricted to one 106 mm turbocharger or two 76 mm turbochargers.
No restrictions to nitrous oxide system, multiple stages permitted.
No limits to Centrifugal Supercharger size.

Fuel
Restricted to gasoline only. No alcohol permitted.

Drive-train
The use of solid axle rear end housing is allowed. Race transmissions are allowed.

Wheels
Aftermarket wheels are permitted. Minimum front wheel width of 3.5 inches required.

Body & Chassis
The car must have an original Corvette or Viper body and chassis. The body must remain original. Hood scoops and spoilers are permitted. Chassis modifications are permitted. No tube chassis allowed.

Bracket Racing Aids
Bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and throttle stops are not allowed. The application or use of any device, mechanical or electronic, that permit the driver to ascertain the position of their vehicle in relation to the starting line is prohibited.

Safety Equipment
Corvettes & Vipers that compete in this class will require the necessary NHRA safety equipment, including a roll cage certified for the performance range of the vehicle.

Weight Breaks
The base weight is 3100 lbs for car & driver. See weight breaks below: All minimum weight requirements are for the combined total weight of car and driver.

Base Weight – 3100 lbs

Weight Deductions
Naturally Aspirated engine deduct 200 lbs to minimum 2900 lbs. Independent Rear Suspension deduct 200 lbs to minimum 2900 lbs. Small block nitrous engine deduct 100 lbs to minimum 3000 lbs weight.

Add Weight
Big Block Nitrous engine add 100 lbs to 3200 lbs minimum weight. Big block twin turbo engine add 200 lbs to 3300 lbs minimum weight.

Tires
Street legal D.O.T approved tires and drag racing slicks are allowed. DOT tires & racing slicks are not permitted to protrude outside the bodyline.

Race Slicks
Maximum Size slick is 10.5” designated tread width for base vehicle weight of 3100 lbs. Slicks larger than 10.5” designated tread width – add 100 lbs.

Street Legal D.O.T tires
Maximum Size DOT tire is 13.5” designated section width / sidewall width – deduct 100 lbs.

Base Weight – 3100 lbs
The base vehicle weight for car and driver is 3100 lbs with race slick tires to 10.5”W designated tread. The use of a larger slick will require an additional 100 lbs for a minimum weight of 3200 lbs and the use of D.O.T tires will allow a weight reduction to 3000 lbs.

Weight Deductions & Additions Based On Type Of Tire Used To Race This Class
Naturally Aspirated engine base weight is 2900 lbs for slicks to 10.5”.
Naturally Aspirated engine increases weight to 3000 lbs for slicks larger than 10.5”.
Naturally Aspirated engine decreases weight to 2800 lbs for Street Legal D.O.T tires.

Independent Rear Suspension base weight is 2900 lbs for slicks to 10.5”.
Independent Rear Suspension increases weight to 3000 lbs for slicks larger than 10.5”.
Independent Rear Suspension decreases weight to 2800 lbs for Street Legal D.O.T tires.

Small block nitrous engine base weight is 3000 lbs for slicks to 10.5”.
Small block nitrous engine increases weight to 3100 lbs for slicks larger than 10.5”.
Small block nitrous engine decreases weight to 2900 lbs for Street Legal D.O.T tires.

Big Block nitrous engine base weight is 3200 lbs for slicks to 10.5”.
Big Block nitrous engine increases weight to 3300 lbs for slicks larger than 10.5”.
Big Block nitrous engine decreases weight to 3100 lbs for Street Legal D.O.T tires.

Big Block twin turbo engine base weight is 3300 lbs for slicks to 10.5”.
Big Block twin turbo engine increases weight to 3400 lbs for slicks larger than 10.5”.
Big Block twin turbo engine decreases weight to 3200 lbs for Street Legal D.O.T tires.

The minimum weight for any entry regardless of engine, tires and IRS suspension
is limited to 2800 lbs.


Weight breaks will be constantly evaluated to ensure parity with all combinations to provide a competitive race series.


Championship Point Series
Awarding Points
The American SuperCar Challenge will award points to SuperCar performance enthusiasts who compete in race competition. The point series will reward racers for performance achievements and attendance.

Qualifying
In order to be eligible to participate in the point series, a qualifying run must be made down the race track during at least one of the designated qualifying sessions.

Race Qualifying Points
- 5 points for entering the race and performing a qualifying run down the race track.
- 10 points for qualifying to race, as one of the top 32 cars with the best elapsed times.
- 15 points in total for entering the race and qualifying for race competition.

Race Qualifying Bonus Points
- 10 points for the best ET qualifying performance in the class and qualifying number 1.
- 5 points for the 2nd best ET qualifying performance and qualifying in number 2 position.

Race Competition Points
- 10 points rewarded to the winner for each round of competition.
- 20 points for winning the race.

Race Attendance Bonus Points
Attendance bonus points will be awarded at the end of the year after the series has ended.
- 20 bonus points for attending all American SuperCar Challenge races
- 15 bonus points for attending all but one race (missing only one race)
- 10 bonus points for attending all but two races (missing only two races)

The American SuperCar Challenge racer with the highest points total at the end of the race season will be classified as the class Champion.

The American SuperCar Challenge Championship jacket will be awarded to the Champion of each class in recognition of outstanding achievement in SuperCar Racing.


The American SuperCar Challenge reserves the right to change rules where deemed necessary
to provide a more competitive race series.
